Why migrate
UptimeRobot checks that an address responds and that a word appears on it. That is useful, but a quote form or a checkout can break while the page still returns 200. Pathly takes over these checks as Ping and adds Flow: a journey replayed in a real browser, up to the payment page, with a screenshot of the step that breaks. The app, probes and screenshots are hosted in Europe (GCP europe-west1).
What is imported
Each HTTP(S) and keyword monitor becomes a Ping, with its name, address and interval. A keyword that must be present becomes the expected text. A port monitor becomes a TCP port Ping. A heartbeat becomes a scheduled job, with the same period and a new address to paste into your job. A paused monitor arrives paused and does not count towards your plan. A site already monitored in Pathly is skipped, and every imported item gets the “uptimerobot” tag.
What is adjusted
An interval shorter than your plan’s minimum is raised to that minimum. Pathly matches the keyword with the exact capitalisation. A keyword that triggers the alert when it appears is not carried over: the Ping checks the site’s response. Custom HTTP headers and status codes are not carried over. The UptimeRobot API gives a group’s number, not its name: all sites go to the client you pick for the import. Each adjustment is listed in the preview, site by site.
What is not imported
ICMP ping monitors: Pathly monitors web addresses, ports and DNS records, not machines by ping. A port 25 monitor: our hosting provider blocks outgoing traffic on that port, monitor port 587 or 465 instead. Password-protected pages and POST requests: Pathly does not take credentials from another tool. Alert contacts, status pages, maintenance windows and history stay in UptimeRobot. You set up alerts in Pathly after the import.
The 3 steps
1. Create a Solo account, free and with no card: the import window opens right after. 2. In UptimeRobot, open Integrations & API and copy the read-only API key. 3. Paste it into Pathly: the preview lists what will be created, adjusted or left out, without creating anything. Then run the import. Keep UptimeRobot while you compare, then add a Flow on the journey that matters.
